Last weekend I took part in Art in the Gardens at Sheffield’s botanical gardens. It’s only the second time I’ve done it, last year I just got to put a few pieces on the lawned area but this time I got my own mini marquee. I squeezed as many pieces as could into my van and set up early Saturday morning ready for the opening at 10.30. The sun shone most of the weekend and the visitors streamed in, it really is a lovely event, friendly and well organised with exactly the right clientele. Even though I’d only had the ‘dog on a trike’ back up from London for a few days he sold and now gets to view the Edale hills every day. My big tortoise went too, to a new home in Wakefield. Thanks to everyone who came along and chatted or bought pieces of my work and thanks to Howard and his team for running the event. It was definitely an easier trip back home with fewer pieces to pack in the van.
