It was the 60th year of Holmfirth Artweek this month and was certainly a packed exhibition. As well as the main exhibition on all 3 floors of the Civic Hall we’d tried to get 60 fringe venues spread around the valleys too. We didn’t quite manage that though but there was still certainly a lot of art to go and see in pubs, restaurants, shops and peoples houses – including our own. I persuaded my wife Emma to show some of her paintings (she sold 12 out of 18) in our conservatory whilst I put some of my sculptures in our garden for people to look at. The final totals raised for The Kirkwood and Macmillan won’t be known for a while but it was a lovely event with lots of visitors, sales and some lovely comments.
