Wow, there goes another course and four students took home four great pieces of sculpture they’d made themselves. We had two brand new students who’d never welded before and two returning students, one almost a course veteran now. First up was Gill who is actually coming back again in August with her friends but wanted to have her first try at welding on her own and she certainly achieved it by making a giant heron and even a flower birdbath too. Jackie came for her second visit to us and this time made a small troublesome folklore figure, not unlike herself – only joking ! Robert is on his fifth course with us now, we think do anyway, we’ve lost count. This time he made a really lovely detailed owl and finally we had beginner Julie. She’d tried welding once before but if was a very serious course where there were a few raised eyebrows when she said she wanted to make a snail. Anyway, she brought the snail with her, finished that off properly and went on to make an excellent ostrich type bird and had such a nice time she’s coming back with her daughter in October. Thanks as ever to David Mayne (Billy) for running the course with me and maybe we’ll see you on a course soon ?
